City Opera House is a local theatre with a lot of character. Since I had previously built an event site in Drupal, I focused on branding and accessibility.
Smaller theaters come with smaller budgets. The events they host don’t have the copy and graphics that come with the bigger events, but still needed to be represented on the site.
Site design needed to be fun and whimsical, without disrupting users and still be accessible.
The eClub needed updated branding and templates to match the new style of the site.
Planning
I started with prototyping the basic layout. Then I added colour and created 3 different style guides. The City Opera House team chose light blue with gold accents and a simple pattern for the heading.
Development
Once the final design was polished, and layout was finished for the event listing and event pages, I built the site in Drupal.
Before moving the site to production, we ask local users to test and review the website. Changes were then made to the navigation and header to make the site easier to use.
The final product was launched, prior to a new season announcement, which included new eClub templates.
